How do other Goths on here like to express themselves creatively?

I personally love writing my own stories, I also play a little acoustic guitar and sing a little in my spare time.

Fed up with goths on tiktok

To clarify: This is just my personal experience with goths on the app, and it doesn't apply to all the ones I met there either.

Anyway. I have the feeling most goths on social media in general (even more on that damned brainrot app) are always repeating the same 4 phrases like fucking parrots. Seriously, it's always the same pseudo-thirst trap videos with the phrase "goth is a music based subculture" or "you can't be a goth if you buy from shein" "everyone is mean and elit1st" "you can't be a bigot(their definition of bigot is interesting) if you call yourself a goth" etc. All of this is TRUE ngl but they say it as if no one else heard it before. Which i find stupid tbh. On top of that there's all that attitude of wanting to show goths are kind and accepting/inclusive of everything on earth which is not true when it comes to hanging out in your local scene with people who have been on this planet for more than 15 years. Seriously I beg these individual to step out of their "Emily the strange" themed room and go get shitfaced at an ebm concert or something

meeting fellow goths outside of goth clubs/bars is basically impossible

i wish there were more family friendly, non alcoholic goth events during the day time. im not fond of public drinking, and especially at night (being a woman in an unsafe area, its a terrible idea, but even if it was safe, im still against it), so meeting goths is impossible

i dont even want to make close friends, i just want to be around people who share my music taste for a few hours and just casually talk

the city were i live used to hold a goth picnic in 2016/2018 but we dont have any events anymore, outside of bars/clubs and emonite. its unfortunate that regular events arent a common thing

we need more goth fairs like how they have steampunk ones! come on!

on to concerts, im scared of them because most free ones are held around, well, bars, and serve alcohol. i wouldnt feel safe, and moshpits would kill my back, since i have several back problems

Competitive goths?

For some reason in the subculture I've noticed goths being competitive towards eachother, mostly among the women. I may just haven't found my crowd but I've been goth for the past 7 years and I have yet to met a goth girl that doesn't have something against you for being goth too? What's the world's obsession with being the "token goth." Here recently I met this girl who loved me at first but everything she posts now is a direct attack at me. Doesn't offend me but I always think about it because I wonder why..I want to dissect these people's brains. Has anyone else ever experienced this as much as me? I wish it didn't annoy me so much.

Any other autistic goths with a lifelong special interest in dark topics?

This might be a shot in the dark! I’m autistic and ever since I was a little kid I’ve always been obsessively interested in dark things like death, skeletons, spiders, gothic horror etc. Now in my 20s instead of shaming my interests I’m embracing them and going fully goth. I love the style, the music, the themes, it just feels so me.

I just wanted to see if anyone else is in my boat. Even if you aren’t autistic necessarily, has this always felt like a deeper part of you?

Good depictions of Goths in media?

Hello Goth people

I've been wondering, has there been any good or at least good-ish representation of Goths or Goth fashion in media in your opinion? I'm talking movies or tv shows mostly, but whatever you can think of, really. The last Goth I saw in anything was maybe Nico from Marvel's Runaways, but that's pretty much it.
